Warm Weekend's

On Saturday we headed down to the Palm Harbor YMCA. They have a great pool with slides, sprayers and huge dumping buckets. We love our Y's pool but we're up for a change of scenery. Poor Ashley was having a terrible day with her allergies. She didn't even swim, which is very unlike her. Instead she opted for lounging in the shade. The boys on the other hand had a blast swimming around and diving down for their toys.

Ty is such a fish. He's never even had swimming lessons.
Ty blooper of the day-When walking through the ladies locker room to get to the pool there were a few older ladies changing. Why they can't use the changing rooms is beyond me. Anyway, as soon as we turned the corner one of the older ladies was in the middle of the locker room and she took the top of her bathing suit down. Drew's eyes were as big as saucers and he made a b-line for the door. Ty stood there with a totally disgusted look on his face and exclaimed " Oh my god lady! You got really old tits!" She didn't seem phased by his outburst and I hurried the boys along all the while doing my best not to burst out laughing. You never know what that kid is going to say.

Drew is a great little diver. It helps that he naturally sinks!

After a stop by Bruisters for ice cream on the way home Ashley started feeling better. Who knew that ice cream is good for allergy relief. The kids decided to have a water balloon fight in the backyard. This is one of their favorite things to do. In part because 1/2 of the balloons usually explode in my face while I'm trying to fill them!

Sunday was a day of cleaning the house and just taking it easy. I was also able to get out in my vegetable garden and replant my veggies. Only the lettuce and rosemary survived all the freezing nights. We planted carrots, zucchini, red onion, beans and watermelon. Ty loves to work in the garden. The other kids are only interested when the plants start producing!

Clearwater Beach

I know all my friends and family up North would probably agree that it was a long, cold winter. However, they may not agree on my opinion of "cold". If I can't wear flip flops, it's cold! Thankfully the cold weather seems to be behind us (at least for us Floridians) and we're officially back in our flip flops heading to the beach and/or pool.

Last weekend we went down to Clearwater beach with our friends the Savages and the Appells. It was a beautiful day. The water was a bit chilly but that didn't deter the kids. They swam the whole day. The beach was loaded with spring breakers. Before heading home we took the kids to a pizza place across the street. Surprisingly, the pizza was amazing! Restaurants on the beach in clearwater can be hit or miss. This was definitely a hit!

Drew's Debut

Friday night Rambling Rhodes music had a mardigras party featuring some of their students. Drew was asked to play a song with his guitar teacher Joe. They played "A horse with no name" by America. Drew did really well and wasn't nervous at all in front of the audience. In fact, he wanted to go on stage again!

My Uncle Brian and Aunt Terri came up to watch him play. Drew is one of Uncle Brian's biggest fans and he was really excited to have Uncle Brian see him play. Since this was his first "gig" it was nice that Drew had a big cheering section.

Drew Man Turns 7!

It's hard to believe Drew man is 7 yrs old. Now the kids are 8, 7, and 4! Where has the time gone?

Drew had a great birthday. On his actual birthday we invited some of his friends over for a soccer party. The kids played nonstop boys vs. girls, of course. We had snacks, snow cones and cake. It was my first attempt at a "round" cake and I think it turned out pretty good considering I was very rushed in baking and icing it.

All the kids had a great time and they loved the shirts I made them

The following Saturday (Valentine's Day) we headed over to Universal Studios for the day. Drew loves the movie rides. My inlaws and Shelly were able to come down for the weekend. The weather was beautiful. The kids are really into all the super heroes so this is their favorite park.

Happy Fall Y'all

On Friday after school I took the kids to the pumpkin patch to pick out small pumpkins to paint.

Because it's still soooo hot here it's too early to buy a big pumpkin to carve. Next weekend I plan to take them to pick out big pumpkins. The kids love choosing their favorite pumpkin and planning their design.

Here they are working hard on their ghouly creations!
Ashley was very proud of her "black cat" pumpkin. This girl loves glitter!
The finished products. A ghost, a vampire/zombie and a black cat.

After the pumpkin patch we headed over to Coldstone our favorite ice cream place. We had some new yummy fall flavors like marshmallow and pumpkin.

Suncoast Triathlon » Course Map

I was finally able to find a course map for my next triathlon at the end of the month. When I registered they had not posted one and I was worried they never would. Luckily I was wrong. I'm very excited that there are no bridges on the bike route and that the run seems to be all path/trail, no beach. I'm sure there will be some sand on the trail but not running directly on the beach is a big bonus. The times from last year seem pretty fast. I hope that's because of the flat bike course and run route!

The Weekend

This weekend like most, seemed to fly by.

Friday night we went over to the Pilman's house for tacos. We made burritos, quesadillas and taco salads. Dinner was yummy and all the kids had a blast playing together. They all get along famously.

Scott is really enjoying his burrito!

Catching Matt mid-chew

Say cheese! No Matt, there's no food on your face.

Hannah, Ashley and Grace with their red lips.

Drew-"Mad like bull!"

Hannah, Ty and I. That's a close up!

(I think the wine is kicking in.)

Unfortunately on Saturday I had an ALL day training at work. Matt took Ty to his first soccer game. He scored two goals. He had a great time and was super excited to tell me about his goals.

On Saturday night Barb's sister Valarie had a jewelry/house warming party at her house in Safety Harbor. Her house is amazing! She goes all out when she throws a party. Catering, wine tasting and rented roulette and black jack tables. We had a blast!

Christy, Barb's mom (mama Sak), Barb and Barb's sister Deborah. These girls were have too much fun being self-professed compulsive gamblers.

Rick was our dealer. We really liked him, that is when we were winning!

Tuesday is the new Monday

Most people dread Monday's but for me my week truly get's "kicked off" with Tuesday. That's when the after school activities start for the week. First with Ashley at chorus til 4:30. Meanwhile I get Drew and run him to his guitar lesson.

To keep Ty busy I usually treat him to Smoothie King, which he enjoys with Cappy the music store mascot.

After a quick trip back home for homework and a snack it's off to the Y for Tyler's soccer practice and Ashley's running club.

The girls learn about "girl power" and train for a 5k!
(Yes, her watter bottle matches her outfit. Always the fashionista!)
